Human Resources Generalist Confidential - 1.0 Gardena, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $25 - $30 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Google Workspace Filing Employee retention Bachelor's degree Conflict resolution Payroll Business Administration Full Job Description Position Summary The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting all human resources functions for a trucking and logistics company, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and training. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, DOT, and company regulations while supporting drivers, office staff, warehouse employees, and management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Recruitment & Staffing Recruit and hire drivers, owner-operators, dispatchers, mechanics, warehouse personnel, and administrative staff. Post job openings and manage applicant tracking. Conduct interviews, reference checks, and background screenings. Coordinate pre-employment drug testing and DOT requirements. Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding. Employee Relations Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and workplace issues. Assist managers with disciplinary actions, coaching, and performance improvement plans. Investigate employee complaints and workplace incidents. Promote positive employee engagement and retention initiatives. Compliance & Recordkeeping Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain personnel files and HR records. Monitor DOT compliance requirements related to drivers. Assist with workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs. Support audits and regulatory inspections. Benefits & Payroll Support Administer employee benefits enrollment and changes. Assist employees with benefits questions. Coordinate payroll information with accounting/payroll departments. Track PTO, sick leave, and attendance records. Training & Development Coordinate safety training and compliance training. Assist with employee development programs. Maintain training records and certifications. Support leadership development initiatives. Performance Management Track employee performance reviews. Assist supervisors with goal setting and performance documentation. Monitor attendance, productivity, and corrective action programs. Safety & Risk Management Partner with Safety Department on accident investigations. Assist with driver qualification file administration. Support workplace safety initiatives. Coordinate workers' compensation reporting and follow-up. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). 1-3 years of HR experience. Experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or warehousing preferred. Knowledge of DOT regulations and driver hiring requirements preferred. Strong knowledge of California labor laws. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Pay:
