SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Serves as the first point of contact for inquiries regarding human resources policies, benefits, and programs. The Human Resources Assistant plays a key role in maintaining accure employee records, supporting onboarding and offboarding, ensuring compliance, and providing administrive support to the department. This position requires a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive informion. The Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of administrive tasks th contribute to the applicion of Human Resources policies and procedures, and support Marine Corps Community Services employees and management to include: ¿ Assist in the recruitment process by scheduling interviews, securing base access, communicing de, time, and locion of interview with selected candides, and maintaining consistent communicion with the hiring manager and HR Generalist regarding stus of interview schedule. ¿ Prepare interview packets, reserve interview locion, and prepare interview room to include setting up telephone and/or video conferencing plforms, and assist meeting host with use of the conference plform. ¿ Assist in the onboarding process by conducting reference checks, preparing new hire paperwork, creing official personnel folders (OPF¿s), schedule employees to tend new hire oriention, and monitor completion of required onboarding documents. ¿ Schedule pre-employment drug tests and physicals for Child Youth Program employees and monitor stus to ensure completion of required testing. ¿ Complete E-Verify for new hires and maintain hard copy files per policy. ¿ Assist in the coordinion of the Length of Service Celebrion ceremony to include pre-event coordinion, RSVP of guests, securing event space, and creing commemorive gifts for recipients. ¿ Provide general clerical assistance to the HR team by proofreading, drafting and routing routine correspondence such as employment probionary letters and delegion of authority letters, maintaining OPF¿s and other HR filing systems, shredding / purging hard copy and electronic documents, responding to verificion of employment requests, and processing mail. ¿ Compile informion for audits, reports, and other routine tasks. Adhere to safety rules and regulions, promptly report observed workplace hazards and any injury, occupional illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immedie supervisor. Adhere to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other duties as assigned. EVALUATIONS
Qualificions One year experience in an administrive role within a professional office setting. Experience with scheduling appointments, compiling informion for audits, preparing informion for reports, preparing documents and packets of informion for distribution, and maintenance of dabases. Knowledge of office management and recordkeeping systems and procedures. Exceptional interpersonal and verbal and written communicion skills, and a high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidential informion required. Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently. Must have strong tention to detail and organizional skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must have strong knowledge of grammar and spelling and appreciion for their direct impact in business communicion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Teams. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting to 20 lbs. may be required. Additional informion
