Full Job Description Job Title:
HR Generalist (Temp-to-Hire) Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic, people-focused HR Generalist to support programs serving children, families, and school-based environments. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing recruiting, employee relations, and HR operations in a collaborative, mission-driven, and non-corporate setting. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the potential for long-term placement. Key Responsibilities This is a true generalist role with an approximate 50/50 split between recruiting/HR operations and employee relations. Recruiting, Onboarding & HR Operations Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring (top priority) Coordinate onboarding and deliver a positive new hire experience Manage HR administrative processes, documentation, and systems Partner closely with hiring managers across multiple locations to support staffing needs Maintain data accuracy within HRIS and support operational efficiency Employee Relations Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns Partner with leadership to address and resolve HR-related matters Promote a positive, inclusive, and people-first workplace culture Support employee engagement and retention efforts Qualifications Required 3+ years of recruiting experience (full-cycle preferred) Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Solid understanding of California employment laws Experience working with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred) Ability to balance administrative tasks with employee-facing responsibilities Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed Comfortable working in environments connected to schools and youth programs Preferred Experience in nonprofit organizations Background working with school districts or education-related programs Key Competencies Friendly, approachable, and easygoing demeanor Adaptable and collaborative mindset Strong attention to detail and follow-through Tech-savvy and process-oriented Passion for supporting people and mission-driven work Work Environment This role operates in a collaborative environment with regular interaction across program sites, including schools and youth-centered settings.
