HR Generalist - Construction RimePro Inc San Diego, CA Job Details Full-time $85,000 - $110,000 a year 2 hours ago Qualifications Construction industry experience Full Job Description Position Overview The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting all aspects of human resources operations for a growing construction organization. This role serves as a key partner to field and office leadership, supporting employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compliance, benefits administration, and workforce development. The ideal candidate comes from a construction industry background and understands the unique challenges associated with supporting field personnel, project teams, skilled trades, and construction operations. This position requires a hands-on HR professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary HR resource for both field and office employees. Support full-cycle recruiting efforts including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation of new hires. Partner with hiring managers and project leadership to identify staffing needs and workforce planning strategies. Administer employee onboarding, offboarding, and new hire documentation. Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management processes. Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Coordinate benefits enrollment, employee leave programs, workers' compensation claims, and other HR programs. Support payroll processes by ensuring employee data, timekeeping, and personnel records are accurate. Assist with training and development initiatives for office and field personnel. Help develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee programs. Monitor compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies. Support performance review processes and employee engagement initiatives. Prepare HR reports, workforce metrics, and personnel documentation for leadership. Assist with workforce retention efforts and company culture initiatives. Qualifications 3-7+ years of Human Resources experience required. Prior experience supporting a construction company, general contractor, subcontractor, engineering firm, or related construction organization required. Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and employee relations. Experience supporting both office staff and field employees. Familiarity with recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and benefits administration. Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters professionally. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred. Experience supporting prevailing wage, certified payroll, union labor, or multi-project construction environments is a plus. Familiarity with construction workforce planning and skilled trades recruiting. Experience with HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and applicant tracking systems.
