55392BR Workplace Investigations Manager General Atomics San Diego California Job Summary General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world's leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Workplace Investigations Manager in our Workplace Investigations Unit located in San Diego (Torrey Pines), CA. Reporting to the Director of Workplace Investigations, this position provides on-site leadership and daily supervision for a team of seven investigators while conducting complex workplace investigations on behalf of the enterprise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Workplace Investigations Manager, approximately 50% of time in this position will be dedicated to leadership and management, 25% to investigative work, and 25% to strategic and organizational planning.
Leadership & Management Responsibilities:
Support the Director of Workplace Investigations with daily operations of the unit Manage operations of the investigative team, including workflow coordination, resource allocation, and operational decision-making Lead, mentor, and direct a team of seven investigators Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development of team members Review and ensure quality of investigative work products, providing guidance and feedback to maintain high standards Prioritize and allocate investigative workload across the team Develop and present training programs on investigative topics
Investigative Responsibilities:
Independently manage and conduct complex investigations into unlawful workplace activity and policy violations in an independent, objective, unbiased, and professional manner Respond to complaints from the Integrity Hotline, email, and direct calls in a timely manner Conduct sensitive interviews with employees and other parties Collaborate with team members on complex cases Author detailed professional reports and maintain organized case files Preserve evidence and analyze data to support findings Interface with executives and external counsel on investigative matters Maintain strict discretion and confidentiality
Strategic & Organizational Planning:
Lead initiatives for investigative process enhancements and improvements Provide creative solutions to employee relations issues with comprehensive knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and practices, as well as federal/state laws and regulations pertaining to workplace conduct Contribute to development of new investigative processes and systems Perform trend analysis and special projects as assigned
General Requirements:
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices Work flexible hours to respond to urgent issues and workload requirements Travel throughout San Diego County and out-of-state as required. Job Qualifications Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline and eleven or more years of progressive human resource professional experience. Additional professional experience or formal training in human resources may be substituted in lieu of education. Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources, criminal justice, or related discipline is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
Progressive professional experience in a corporate Human Resources department, OR Investigative and leadership experience in federal, state, or local law enforcement agency
