Job Description

Summary We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our dynamic HR team and contribute to the success of our growing business. The HR Specialist will provide essential administrative support in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment. This role involves a wide range of Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations. This is a full time, on-site position in Wallingford, CT. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate and support the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, and communicating with candidates. Schedules and facilitates all pre-employment screenings and onboarding procedures for new hires and conducts new hire orientation. Maintain and update employee records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations. Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of employee data in HR systems and personnel files. Support the administration of employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve issues and answer questions. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Prepare reports related to HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, and employee demographics. Support employee relations efforts by helping to resolve workplace conflicts, conducting investigations, and promoting a positive work environment. Provide guidance to employees on HR-related topics and escalate complex issues to senior HR staff. Support HR events and communications including newsletters, surveys, and recognition programs. Other duties as assigned by Manager. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience Prior experience in a Human Resources department preferred Experience working in a manufacturing and/or unionized environment a plus Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS a plus Proficient in Microsoft365, with strong skills in PowerPoint and Excel and the ability to create detailed and accurate reports Exceptional attention to detail Proven customer service excellence Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities
