Overview The
CULTURE AND TALENT SPECIALIST
is a strategic, contract-based role responsible for cultivating a healthy mission-aligned organizational culture while strengthening talent systems across Samaritan Village. This position focuses on people development, leadership cultivation, and trauma-informed workplace practices, ensuring staff are equipped, supported, and aligned to deliver high-quality, survivor-centered care. The
CULTURE AND TALENT SPECIALIST
integrates human resources, recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and compliance, while intentionally building a culture rooted in Christ-centeredness, Courage, Community, and Compassion. Responsibilities Culture Development & Leadership Growth Design and implement strategies that strengthen a trauma-informed, survivor-centered organizational culture Facilitate leadership development initiatives for supervisors and emerging leaders Coach managers on effective supervision, communication, and team engagement Promote staff wellness, retention, and resilience practices (including secondary trauma support) Lead culture assessments and recommend improvements aligned with Samaritan Village's mission and values Human Resources Oversight Develop and refine HR systems, policies, and procedures aligned with nonprofit and Florida employment standards Manage and maintain employee policies and procedures handbook. Provide guidance to leadership on HR best practices, workforce planning, and organizational structure Support performance management processes, including evaluations and professional development planning Ensure consistency in HR practices across programs and departments Establish and maintain accurate, confidential employee records in accordance with legal and organizational standard Manage payroll and employee benefits, including accrued PTO, health plan, insurance, transportation benefits, and other benefits as appropriate. Recruitment & Staffing Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, and interview processes Partner with leadership to identify staffing needs and workforce strategies Develop hiring processes that prioritize mission alignment, cultural fit, and trauma-informed competencies Strengthen pipelines for diverse, qualified candidates, including those with lived experience where appropriate Onboarding & Training Design and implement a comprehensive onboarding experience that integrates mission, culture, and compliance Ensure all new hires complete required trainings (e.g., DCF, HIPAA, trauma-informed care, human trafficking curriculum) Coordinate ongoing staff development and training plans, including leadership pathways Track and maintain training compliance in collaboration with program leadership Employee Relations Serve as a neutral, trusted resource for staff grievances, concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace challenges Support leadership in addressing performance issues through a trauma-informed, corrective, and restorative approach Develop systems that promote employee engagement, feedback, and recognition Reinforce professional boundaries and ethical conduct aligned with Samaritan Village's Code of Conduct Offboarding Skills and Abilities Ability to uphold the Christ-Centered principles and support the Vision, Mission and Values of Samaritan Village, Inc. Excellent communication skills, both internal to the organization and with external partners, in writing and verbally Proven ability to build and nurture a diverse, respectful, and positive working environment Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse Board of Directors Attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently and as part of a team Education and Experience Relevant advanced credentials, including Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification preferred but not required 3-5+ years of experience in HR, talent development, or organizational culture (nonprofit experience preferred) Knowledge of trauma-informed care and/or experience working in human services environments strongly preferred Strong interpersonal, coaching, and facilitation skills Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality Demonstrated commitment to diversity within the office and using a personal approach that values all individuals and respects differences regarding race, ethnicity, age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and socio-economic circumstance Commitment to work collaboratively and respectfully toward resolving obstacles and conflicts
Pay:
$50.00 - $70.00 per hour
