Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced, bilingual Human Resource Generalist to assist our HR department in supporting the agricultural workforce across multiple locations. This is a hands-on support role that works closely with HR leadership on day-to-day HR functions including employee onboarding, benefits processing, workers' compensation, and DOT driver compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently on assigned tasks. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Onboarding & Employee Support Assist with new hire onboarding, orientation, and paperwork for full-time and seasonal employees. Manage Form I-9 verification and E-Verify processing for all new hires. Maintain and update employee records including hires, changes, and terminations in HRIS systems. Handle employee separations and ensure all offboarding documentation is completed. Respond to employment verification requests, employee inquiries, and state new hire reporting. Support the recruitment process by maintaining and reviewing candidate and employee records, including performance evaluations, commendations, and disciplinary actions. Assist HR leadership and managers with employee relations and disciplinary matters as directed. Benefits Administration Assist with health, dental, and vision insurance enrollment, changes, and cancellations. Assist with the annual open enrollment process including distributing materials and collecting forms. Assist with monthly insurance reconciliations and coordinate payroll deductions with the payroll team. Assist with FMLA paperwork and eligibility determinations. Workers' Compensation Manage the full workers' compensation claims process from incident report through resolution. Coordinate medical care for injured employees, including driving and accompanying them to appointments as needed. Maintain communication with workers' compensation adjusters regarding claim status. Ensure accurate OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping (Forms 300, 300A, and 301). DOT Compliance Process new commercial drivers through all DOT qualification steps including drug testing, FMCSA Clearinghouse registration, and license/medical certificate verification Monitor driver license and medical certificate expirations; coordinate renewals within required timeframes Administer quarterly random drug testing for applicable driver pools H-2A Program Support the seasonal worker program including applicant tracking, onboarding, and required postings Prepare and distribute H-2A training materials and ensure workers receive required documentation upon arrival Training Coordinate and run employee training across all locations. Log completed training in the HRIS and Microsoft Teams. OSHA & General Administration Maintain required OSHA compliance postings at all locations and update annually Manage office supply inventory Travel required
QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual:
Fluent in English and Spanish (required).
Experience:
3+ years in HR, ideally in agriculture or farming.
Compliance:
Knowledge of DOT driver rules, workers' comp, and OSHA logs.
Programs:
Familiarity with H-2A visas and
FMLA/FLSA
laws is a plus.
Tech Skills:
Comfortable with HRIS systems, MS Office, and Teams.
Travel:
Valid driver's license to travel between farm locations.
Certifications:
HR certification a plus. (SHRM, PHR) Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail through data collection and data entry tasks. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction across all levels of the organization.
Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
