Job Description Position Summary:
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will maintain a positive work atmosphere by being professional and communicating in a manner that promotes strong relationships with employees, co-workers, and the management team. They will be responsible for interfacing with all human resources functions such as employee relations, staffing, safety, and training. The Senior Human Resources Generalist originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.Essential Functions:
- Recruit qualified candidates for all hourly and salaried positions to meet plant production requirements.
- Build and maintain Employee files and record keeping functions relation to HR Documents.
- Utilize best recruiting practices to reduce plant turnover and recruiting costs while hiring top talent.
- Prioritize and coordinate a wide variety of tasks and activities of the Human Resource department which may include personnel, medical records, job evaluations and benefits administration.
- Manage recruiting for production positions utilizing temporary recruiting firms, state agencies, and outside services.
- Manage employee performance reviews for both hourly and salary employees including 90-day and annual reviews.
- Administer company policies and procedures pertaining to employee relations, handbooks, and corrective actions.
- Provide support for Human Capital Planning, employee development plans, and training initiatives.
- Manage company's employee tuition reimbursement policy including approving and tracking approved courses and curriculums.
- Provide employee orientation, training, benefit reviews, and all on-board activities for new hires.
- Oversee the administration of FMLA including determining eligibility, notification, tracking and going through the second and third opinion process when applicable.
- Oversee all disciplinary and termination activities for the operation while following company policy.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and recommend solutions and corrective actions per company policies.
- Manage employee benefit programs including medical, 401k, retirement, EAP, and other programs.
- Respond to management and employee questions on Human Resources matters as needed.
- Promoted a proactive safety culture within the team.
- Support EHS programs and initiatives.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, and incidents promptly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Strong computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet; finance; production planning and tracking applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks to changing situations and priorities.
- Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Desired Skills:
- Highly organized, a self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Proven ability to work hands-on with the team to achieve objectives.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
- Continuous Improvement background a plus. Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in business or human resources management required.
- Prefer 3-5 years' experience with progressive HR responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
