Job Description

Position Summary As an HR Generalist with The GTI Group, you are expected to develop broad expertise across all core human resources functions while supporting multiple business entities within a growing logistics and supply chain organization. Your primary responsibility is to support employees, managers, and leadership through effective HR practices including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, policy implementation, and organizational development. This role blends operational HR support, strategic partnership, and problem solving, with a strong focus on maintaining compliance, supporting company growth, and fostering a positive employee experience. You will be provided with the tools and resources needed to support organizational growth, employee engagement, and operational excellence across multiple business divisions. The HR Generalist will receive requests from both internal and external sources, and this individual will be required to ensure HR processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations. You will support assigned departments and leaders on an ongoing basis, interacting daily to build strong working relationships, assess workforce needs, and provide HR solutions that align with business objectives. Your Day-to-Day Impact Manage full-cycle recruitment processes including sourcing, screening, interviewing coordination, onboarding, and new hire orientation. Support employee relations by addressing concerns, conducting investigations, and partnering with leadership on resolutions. Administer benefits programs, leave management, workers' compensation, and employee documentation. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, wage and hour regulations, and employment eligibility requirements. Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and organizational procedures. Assist with performance management processes, disciplinary actions, and employee development initiatives. Partner with leadership on organizational planning, workforce strategy, and merger or acquisition integration efforts. Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS systems, reporting, and compliance documentation. Provide daily/weekly/monthly HR reporting as requested. Support payroll coordination and employee data accuracy in partnership with payroll providers. Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and retention strategies. Other HR-related duties as required, including special projects, compliance audits, and operational support as deemed fit by supervisors. Essentials For Your Success •Strong business knowledge of HR practices within logistics, transportation, or multi-entity environments Drive for results, demonstrate initiative to achieving or surpassing organizational goals while maintaining compliance and employee satisfaction Experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving HR regulations and business needs Passion, perseverance, and a drive to succeed Ability to build strong relationships across all organizational levels Contributor to the success of a team, strong team player Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Strong aptitude for condensing large amounts of employee, compliance, and operational data into actionable solutions Ability to prioritize workload and allocate the necessary time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within given timelines Strong computer skills Knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, payroll systems, and compliance platforms Strong communication skills (written and oral) Willingness to travel, as needed Education and/or Experience •
Minimum Education Required:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) •
Desirable Education/Experience:
Two (2) years in a related human resources field including recruiting, employee relations, HR administration, or compliance •
Desirable Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; SHRM-CP, PHR, or other professional HR certifications preferred.
