Job Description

Rock River Lumber & Grain, a locally owned grain, agronomy and lumber retailer has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, self-starter to join our team as a HR Generalist. Responsibilities include : Maintaining and updating employee files Enter new employees in payroll system, implement new hire orientation and handle open enrollment of benefits annually Review, track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include safety training, OSHA requirements and anti-harassment training Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity and morale Recruit, interview and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings Processing and maintaining all workers' compensation claims, unemployment requests, FMLA leaves and absences Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations Perform other duties as assigned
