  • denotes Essential Functions)
  • Coordinates the development of non-credit, continuing education or workforce training programs designed to meet employer's and incumbent workers' needs for skill development and employment training.
  • Coordinates and manages multiple continuing education or workforce training programs that align with state or nationally recognized industry credentials where possible. Program assignments may include, but are not limited to Motorcycle Safety, and other related non-credit continuing education or workforce training programs as assigned.
  • Meets regularly with stakeholders and community that are interested in participating in continuing education and/or training programs. Attends and participates in off-campus meetings and events to market programs and course offerings.
  • Activities and tasks may include but will not be limited to budget management, program logistics (scheduling, coordinating registration and monitoring course enrollment), recruitment and outreach, and personnel management.
  • Assists in the development of program resources through such avenues as tuition revenue, grant writing, partnership development, contract training, or other extramural funding opportunities. Assists with contract narratives, justifications, continuances and extensions.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with employers, government, industry, education and community representatives to identify training needs and funding resources to develop training programs.
  • Conducts labor market research, market research, employer needs assessment, and inventory of education opportunities.
  • Evaluates and make recommendations on continuing education and training programs and courses that are relevant to current, new and future markets.
  • Promotes student retention and achievement, and assists students in overcoming barriers to success.
  • Recruits, supervises, and evaluates instructors.
  • Plans and organizes day, evening, and weekend classes, including instructional assignments and student support services.
Works outside normally scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as directed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Agriculture, Business, Computer Science, Finance, Communications, Social Science, Arts & Humanities, Human Resources, Occupational Safety, or any Career and Technical Education field and three year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for educational administration; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated. Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the areas of continuing education as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with administrative and program management. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software. For supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations. Demonstrated ability to use electronic spreadsheets and presentation software. Successful experience in developing and managing program budgets for revenue generation. Knowledge of current and emerging research and policy about workforce development, career and technical education, and continuing education. Experience in curriculum development and/or program evaluation. Experience and/or knowledge with distance education and online learning management systems. Experience working in a community college setting. Ability to travel in a timely manner for purposes of attending meetings, training and other activities. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Demonstrated ability working with diverse populations, including adult learners and community college students. Desirable Qualifications Master's degree from any accredited university. Two years of work experience related to motorcycle safety and/or training. Advanced qualifications as RiderCoach Trainer. Administrative experience in a college or comparable experience in an educational agency, industry, or government with an emphasis on program/project evaluation, and implementing new initiatives with diverse stakeholders. Working knowledge of pedagogy and andragogy as demonstrated through successful teaching experience at a post-secondary institution or related experience. Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Experience in successful grant writing. Knowledge of higher education research and/or initiatives about student success.
