1-3 years of HR experience Experience in a manufacturing environment Strong communication skills (verbal & written) Ability to work independently and be self-directed Must be 21+ years old Valid driver's license & reliable transportation Must pass background check and comply with all regulations Ability to obtain state cannabis industry badge
Preferred:
Payroll experience (a plus) Retail experience Bilingual (English/Spanish) Associate's or Bachelor's degree (HR, Business, or related) Knowledge of employment and labor laws
Job Description:
We are seeking an HR Generalist to join a growing organization in Salisbury, MA. This is an onsite contract opportunity with strong potential for long-term conversion. This role will support day-to-day HR operations across two nearby facilities (manufacturing/cultivation and retail) and requires someone who is proactive, organized, and highly communicative.
Key Responsibilities:
Support onboarding and offboarding processes Assist with weekly payroll (training provided) Maintain employee records in HRIS (Adaptive HR, SwipeClock) Ensure compliance with employment laws and licensing requirements Coordinate interviews and recruiting efforts Run background checks and manage state badging process Handle employee relations issues and provide guidance to leadership Administer benefits, leaves of absence, and accommodations Support performance management and employee development processes Partner with safety initiatives and maintain compliance standards Assist with open enrollment and benefits coordination Streamline HR processes and support overall HR operations
Work Environment:
Onsite role in a cannabis production and retail environment Must be comfortable with exposure to cannabis-related products and scents Collaborative but independent work environment #AFHR #LI-KD1
