Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, "hands-on" HR Generalist to join a lean, three-person HR team at a prestigious international educational institution. This role is divided into two key priorities: executing a critical I-9 audit for state compliance and providing seamless HR operational support during the busy summer transition. The ideal candidate is a compliance expert who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment and is comfortable "pivoting" between technical audit work and general employee relations.
salary:
$34 - $41 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5

Compliance & Audit:
Lead a comprehensive audit of all current and historical Form I-9s. Identify errors, perform legal corrections, and ensure all documentation meets Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and USCIS standards.
Regulatory Liaison:
Ensure all personnel files are audit-ready for state regulators, with a specific focus on background checks and work authorizations.
Summer Talent Acquisition:
Support the "wind-down" hiring surge by coordinating interviews, managing candidate communications, and overseeing the onboarding of new faculty and staff for the upcoming academic year.
Operational Support:
Act as the primary HR point of contact while permanent team members are on summer leave. Tasks include answering benefits inquiries, processing offboarding for departing staff, and data entry in the HRIS.
Administrative Agility:
Maintain physical and digital employee records with high confidentiality and accuracy. Qualifications & Skills I-9
Subject Matter Expertise:
Proven experience completing and correcting Form I-9s is required. Must be familiar with List A, B, and C document requirements and E-Verify.
