- Part-time About the role We're looking for a proactive HR Generalist to support our people and leaders across recruitment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, compliance, and training.
You'll ensure policies are followed, help resolve employee issues, and maintain a productive, legally compliant workplace. What you'll do Process bi-weekly payroll, verify timecards, and manage necessary inputs for accuracy.
Administer FMLA and STD:
handle paperwork, approvals, staff education, and absence tracking in the HRIS. Coordinate benefits administration, including open enrollment, life event changes, invoice auditing/approval, and ongoing employee education. Maintain and interpret HR policies and procedures; update the handbook, job descriptions, and related documents. Lead full-cycle recruiting, including temporary staffing and new hire onboarding. Prepare annual compliance reporting (OSHA, ACA, DOL, Position Green, etc.). Support leaders on employee relations matters; ensure consistent documentation; attend terminations and conduct exit interviews. Maintain HRIS and personnel files; ensure accurate I-9s and physical file management. Manage work injury records per
OSHA/MIOSHA
; report to the workers' compensation carrier and serve as liaison. Track training records; maintain forms and training matrix. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with HR's ISO audit and pre-audits. Perform other duties as assigned. What you'll bring Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent required. 2-5 years of professional HR experience. Hands-on experience with payroll and benefits administration. Working knowledge of local and state employment laws and regulations. Clear, empathetic communicator who can build trust and drive policy understanding. Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills. Experience with HRIS platforms; comfort with data accuracy and reporting. Working conditions and physical requirements Primarily office-based in a climate-controlled environment. Ability to remain stationary up to 50% of the time; occasional movement to access files/equipment. Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 30 lbs following safe-moving practices.
