HR Director Role Overview Are you a seasoned HR professional who thrives on autonomy? Nidec AMEC is seeking a Human Resources Generalist II to serve as the sole HR point of contact for our Troy, Michigan office. This is a critical "boots-on-the-ground" role supporting a high-performing team of 26 employees across Sales and Engineering. You will manage the full employee lifecycle—from executive recruitment to payroll administration—ensuring our Michigan hub operates seamlessly while staying aligned with corporate HR directives. Expertise in Workday is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities Workday Administration:
Serve as the primary user for Workday , managing all HRIS data collection, entry, and reporting to support strategic planning and personnel administration.
Executive Recruitment:
Lead full-cycle talent acquisition for executive and technical engineering roles, managing sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
Employee Relations & Personnel Admin:
Act as the unique on-site HR representative for 26 employees; handle conflict management, performance management, and organizational design with total confidentiality.
Payroll & Benefits:
Oversee payroll administration and benefits programs, ensuring accurate data flow between Workday and payroll providers (e.g., ADP/Paychex).
Legal Compliance:
Ensure 100% compliance with federal and Michigan labor laws, including
FMLA, OSHA
standards, Workers' Compensation , and Affirmative Action planning.
Policy Development:
Implement and enforce HR policies related to workforce management, change management, and organizational restructuring.
Experience & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist or Senior role.
Technical Proficiency:
Mandatory expertise in Workday. Familiarity with other platforms like SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle HCM is a plus.
Language Skills:
English (Mandatory) ; Spanish fluency is a significant plus .
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Soft Skills:
Strong project management skills and the ability to work "solo" as the expert resource for a satellite engineering and sales hub. Why Join Nidec AMEC?
