Human Resources Generalist St. Louis, MO Job Description The Human Resources Generalist will support day-to-day HR operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with plant leadership and employees to drive HR initiatives, ensure compliance, and support workforce engagement across the facility. The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable working on the floor, and able to balance strategic HR support with administrative execution. Responsibilities Act as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors across the manufacturing site. Support full-cycle recruitment efforts including job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding. Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, payroll support, and leave of absence. Manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and provide coaching to leadership. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations as well as company policies. Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, including hires, terminations, and status changes. Assist with performance management processes, including evaluations, corrective actions, and talent development. Support training initiatives including onboarding, compliance training, and ongoing development programs. Partner with safety/EHS teams to support workplace safety initiatives and compliance requirements. Engage in employee engagement efforts, communication initiatives, and plant-wide programs. Provide guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Assist with audits, reporting, and HR projects as needed. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 2-5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and performance management. Familiarity with HRIS systems such as Workday Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and support production teams. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Qualifications Prior experience supporting hourly/non-exempt workforce. Exposure to safety or EHS programs within manufacturing. HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP. Work Environment The role is primarily onsite in a manufacturing plant environment, with regular interaction with both office staff and production employees. It may require time on the production floor to support operations. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, with some flexibility provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
