Job Description

Russel Metals is one of the largest metals distribution companies in North America, with a growing focus on value-added processing. It carries on business in three segments: metals service centers, energy field stores and steel distributors. Its network of metals service centers carries an extensive line of metal products in a wide range of sizes, shapes and specifications, including carbon hot rolled and cold finished steel, pipe and tubular products, stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous specialty metals. Its energy field stores carry a specialized product line focused on the needs of energy industry customers. Its steel distributors' operations act as master distributors selling steel in large volumes to other steel service centers and large equipment manufacturers mainly on an "as is" basis. Position Overview:
The Human Resources Specialist will support human resources including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance and benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Partner with hiring managers to support full-cycle recruiting activities (job postings, screening, scheduling, and interviewing) Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation processes Assist with temporary employees and agencies Ensure a positive candidate and new employee experience Employee Relations Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs HR Compliance Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS systems Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies Assist with audits and compliance reporting as needed Benefits Administration & Enrollment Manage the benefits enrollment process for new hires and during annual open enrollment Provide guidance to employees on benefits options, eligibility, and changes Maintain benefits records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Qualifications :
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience across multiple functional areas Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices Experience with HRIS systems (UKG) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
