Job Description

We are a growing, physician-owned multispecialty eye care practice with 120+ physicians across 70+ locations, committed to innovation, efficiency, and high-quality patient care.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and personable Onboarding Specialist / athenahealth Trainer to lead onboarding and system implementation for new and transitioning practices. This role combines technical expertise, training, and account management to ensure successful integration, adoption, and ongoing optimization of systems across all locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead onboarding and implementation of new practices into EMR/PMS systems (athenahealth, Nextech IntelleChartPRO) Manage data migrations using Excel, ensuring accuracy and organization of large datasets Deliver athenahealth training and support staff/providers during onboarding Serve as a post-implementation Account Manager, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and practice staff to improve workflows and system utilization Build strong relationships with physicians, administrators, and staff Stay current on system updates and best practices
Additional Duties:
Travel to local practice locations as needed Occasional early morning/evening availability
Qualifications:
2+ years of athenahealth experience; 3+ years in healthcare IT, system implementation, or training Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (large datasets, data cleanup) Experience conducting training sessions (in-person and virtual) Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Team-oriented with a proactive, adaptable mindset
