Starting Pay:
$60,008 annually.

As the Labor/Employee Relations Specialist here at Hamilton County, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, guidance, and support on personnel matters, policy application, and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements across various departments under the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). The role involves proactive employee relations management, conducting investigations, participating in collective bargaining processes, and contributing to the development of comprehensive training programs.
Summary of Job Duties:
Provide expert advice to directors, managers, and employees across BOCC departments on personnel matters, policy application, and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements. Conduct investigations, under the guidance of the Employee and Labor Relations Manager, into potential violations of policies and collective bargaining agreement provisions. Assist in all aspects of collective bargaining, including compiling information, costing labor contracts, and managing processes for finalizing agreements. Assist in drafting responses to grievances and prepare for related hearings, mediations, and arbitrations; update the status and outcomes of filed grievances. Manage unemployment compensation for BOCC departments and other Appointing Authorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources management/personnel administration or related field. Three (3) years related experience. Must be able to apply this knowledge to practical work situations through effective human relations skills. Or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite Proficient with Adobe Suite/Adobe Acrobat Background in public sector settings and experience navigating unionized work environments
