Description:
Human Resources Generalist Job Summary:
Guide new hires through the on-boarding process. Track and monitor development and completion of IPDPs. Maintain knowledge of union agreements. Keep current with school student achievement data to focus on continuous improvement of student outcomes. Supports employees with helpful guidance and information. Maintains/updates employee data and files. Assists and coaches managers/Administrators with the performance management process. Coordinate and conduct recruitment efforts designed to attract quality candidates based upon staffing level needs to achieve District goals and efficiencies. Implement and direct the implementation District and/or Board of Education policies and procedures. Ensure appropriate confidentiality of all information, correspondence, and reports in the Office of Human Resources. Prepare, check accuracy and code requisitions, purchase orders, travel arrangements, travel reimbursements, check requests, leave requests, overtime requests, and other forms and requests for approval as requested by the HR Director. Ensure compliance with all federal, state & local laws including but not limited to DOL, FMLA, OSHA, etc. Benefits reconciliation along with benefits audits. Prepare and distribute the salary schedules and work year calendars. In conjunction with Payroll department maintain accurate position control including the preparation of Personnel lists for approval of the Board of Education, maintenance of building staff allocations and staffing records. Process personnel actions accurately and in a timely manner to communicate compensation, hiring, transfers, resignations/terminations, retirement and extra-duty. Responsible for compliance with Federal and State legislation regarding personnel matters, including but not limited to compliance of Highly Qualified requirements under No Child Left Behind. Assist in coordinating district employee candidate recruiting including vacancy postings, coordinating advertising for posted vacancies, and analyzing and documenting recruiting effectiveness. Establish and maintain relevant personnel files and data that may include sensitive and privileged data. Coordinate and assist in new employee orientations including assuring all new employee forms are completed including forms to verify citizenship, and authorization to work in the U.S., EEOC, applicant oath, fingerprint cards for criminal background check, overview of personnel policies and job descriptions. Executive Director of School Leadership & Human Resources Qualifications:
B.A. in Human Resources or related field plus three years of Human Resources experience, or a combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to utilize resources to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with school culture, standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations and/or government law. Ability to objectively coach and manage employees through complex, difficult, and sensitive issues. Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices including ERISA, FLSA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, FMLA/FLA/Pregnancy Disability, HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy; shows respect and sensitivity for differences; educates others on the value of diversity; promotes a harassment-free environment; helps build a diverse workforce. Must possess strong ethics - treat people with respect; keep commitments; inspire the trust of others; work ethically and with integrity; uphold school values.
