Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll and HR Specialist to manage our payroll processes and human resources functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in payroll management, accounting software, and human resources systems, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. In this role, you will oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR data management while ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and organizational policies. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining smooth operations across our finance and HR departments. Duties Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely payments for all employees including interns. Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and compliance with applicable regulations. Maintain and update HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data to ensure accuracy and confidentiality. Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping. Support accounts payable and receivable functions related to payroll expenses and vendor payments using accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms. Ensure compliance with tax regulations , managing tax deductions, and maintaining relevant documentation. Assist with governmental reporting requirements related to payroll taxes, benefits, and employment records. Conduct data entry with precision for employee records, timekeeping data from time management systems. Collaborate with management on benefits administration, employee onboarding, and policy updates. Perform analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and implement corrective actions promptly. Requirements Proven experience in payroll management utilizing platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro. Strong knowledge of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation. Familiarity with financial concepts related to corporate accounting and non-profit accounting practices is preferred. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or equivalent financial management tools. Experience with screening applicants for manager review. Knowledge of governmental reporting requirements related to payroll taxes and employment law compliance. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing skills) and attention to detail. Ability to analyze financial data effectively using analysis skills to identify trends or discrepancies. Strong understanding of human resources functions including benefits administration and employee recordkeeping. Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and external vendors. Pay:
$50,169.79 - $60,419.54 per year
