Horizon House is Pennsylvania's oldest psychiatric rehabilitation agency. Since 1952, we have been dedicated to helping people with mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and homelessness to stabilize their lives and to help them live as independently as possible in the community. With over 100 locations throughout South and North Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, Horizon House provides services to a diverse population focusing on individual strength and choice. We are seeking a qualified, from the Department of Welfare, Investigator to support our agency. This position may require traveling to the surrounding counties and the programs in Philadelphia.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Conducts investigations into serious incidents on behalf of the agency related to the care of persons served. Responsible for maintaining a system for ensuring that serious incidents requiring investigations are completed in a timely and comprehensive manner. Provides analysis of investigations to identify trends that may require an adjustment to services for participants or training for employees. The successful candidate will have the following: BA/BS degree required. Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, Data Entry, HCSIS)• Certified Investigator with at least two years of investigation experience is preferred. Advanced training in conducting investigations is preferred. Excellent report writing ability. Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written. Detail-oriented and able to work independently Able to interact with all levels of staff and participant service teams Ability to Train and Coach Investigators Ability to build consensus among relevant parties involved with an investigation, Ability to problem-solve complex situations. Ability to use inductive reasoning when drawing conclusions. The incumbent will travel to the county areas to conduct investigations/ support. Candidates must have their own transportation for travel between locations.
Scope:
Required sitting for long periods. Light lifting and/or carrying, not to exceed 25 lbs.
