With approximately 1,500 employees, Tredegar operates manufacturing facilities in North America and Asia. Tredegar Surface Protection has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Specialist to join our Team! The Human Resources Specialist administers HR and employee relations activities. This role is key to maintaining a positive work environment and is critical to overall employee experience. This role is a trusted position which is responsible for handling highly confidential and sensitive information. The HR Specialist is responsible for HR support related to employee benefits, labor relations, HRIS administration, maintaining employee records, recruiting and any other duties as assigned by manager or listed below. DUTIES Maintain and update employee files and records which may include various rosters and reports i.e. weekly workforce report, seniority listing, etc. Responsible for full-cycle recruiting of hourly new hires including support as needed when filling positions internally. Arrange and administer new hire on-boarding process. Responsible use of procurement card and monthly reconciliation of statement. Assist with site activities and meeting planning for special events. Maintain attendance process for hourly employees including creating discipline documents to be administered by appropriate supervisor or manager. Maintain accurate record of hourly employee discipline. Maintain HRIS system and all other related systems (i.e. badge system, time and attendance system) or documents to reflect employee changes. On-site subject matter expert along with HR Manager for employee benefit programs. Maintain Service Award and Retiree Recognition, Birthday and Anniversary Recognition and Perfect Attendance Recognition programs. Serve on Employee Activities Team and Safety Day Planning Team. Support company activities such as Annual Holiday Party, Company Picnic, United Way Campaign. Provide employees with appropriate Family & Medical Leave paperwork, track documents and FMLA usage. Attend and act as notetaker for Union/Management meetings and negotiations. Manage hourly employee performance review program to ensure employees receive reviews in a timely manner. Coordinate with other functions such as payroll and plant scheduling to ensure they have accurate and timely updates on employee changes which affect their responsibilities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree is preferred with 3 plus years relevant experience preferred. Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook required. Experience in Kronos and Dayforce preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.
