Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Bilingual HR Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing support in various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, and HR policy implementation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required to effectively support our diverse workforce.
Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary:
$73,000 $500 sign-on bonus, paid upon completion of 30 days of employment Medical, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid basic life insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) OR Monthly employer contribution toward a retirement account Responsibilities Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Provides guidance and support to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation. Addresses employee relations matters, resolves conflicts, and conducts investigations as necessary. Assists with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Maintains employee records and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance HR processes and initiatives. Participates in HR projects and initiatives as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of progressive HR generalist experience. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) required. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices, including California-specific labor law. Experience with HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications SHRM-CP or
SHRM-SCP
certification; California SHRM chapter affiliation strongly preferred. Experience supporting HR functions in a transportation, logistics, or NEMT environment. Familiarity with DOT and FTA workforce compliance requirements. Experience with Paycor or similar HCM/payroll platforms.
