This role is ideal for someone who can navigate sensitive workplace dynamics with professionalism, neutrality, and emotional intelligence while helping build a healthier, more accountable workplace culture. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to have difficult conversations, address workplace concerns head-on, and partner with leadership to support employees and strengthen the employee experience. This is a part-time, hybrid position (30 hours/week) with required on-site support on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Additional weekly hours may be flexible based on business needs. As the company continues to grow, this role also offers strong potential for long-term growth and expanded responsibility. What You'll Do Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching conversations, conflict resolution, corrective action support, and workplace concern management Conduct fair, thorough, and well-documented workplace investigations, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct concerns Administer leave programs with a strong focus on full-cycle FMLA management, including eligibility review, notices, tracking, communication, and compliance Help identify and address workplace culture concerns, communication breakdowns, and toxic work environment patterns with professionalism and discretion Partner with managers to navigate sensitive employee situations while balancing compliance and employee experience Support performance management processes, including coaching, documentation, disciplinary actions, and separations Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, and related regulations Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and investigation documentation Assist with onboarding, offboarding, policy updates, audits, and HR process improvements Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and workplace concerns What We're Looking For 3+ years of HR experience with strong exposure to employee relations, investigations, and compliance Multi-state HR experience Experience handling complex workplace situations with professionalism, neutrality, and sound judgment Proven experience managing FMLA and employee leave administration Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently Someone who is approachable, emotionally intelligent, and confident navigating difficult conversations Preferred Qualifications HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or
SHRM-SCP
) Experience working in fast-paced or high-growth environments Experience with HRIS platforms and case management systems Schedule & Work Environment Part-time | 30 hours per week Required on-site presence Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Additional weekly hours may scheduled remotely Professional, collaborative, and team-oriented environment Why Join Payday?
