THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
This role focuses heavily on working with and through others, building and maintaining relationships, and ensuring compliance with established HR policies and regulations. You are an effective communicator who can handle sensitive matters professionally and confidentially. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Attention to detail is critical, as this role involves managing employee records, payroll, benefits, compliance reporting, and HR processes. You must be approachable, supportive, and committed to helping both employees and managers navigate HR processes effectively. Requirements & Responsibilities:
Support recruitment, posting positions on internal and external platforms, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires Administer, audit, and maintain I-9 records and other regulatory documentation Assist with payroll and benefits administration, including verifying employee data and supporting open enrollment activities Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, multi-state, and local employment laws Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures Assist with employee relations, performance management documentation, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation claims Coordinate leave tracking for
FMLA, NJ
Family Leave Act, and other applicable state leaves Support HR audits, reporting, and compliance activities Assist in maintaining PTO policies, tracking balances, and updating payroll/time systems Participate in HR initiatives, diversity certifications, and other organizational programs as needed
Experience:
2-4 years of experience in HR, operations, administrative, or related support roles Basic knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, NJLAD, wage & hour, I-9 compliance) Experience working with HRIS and/or payroll systems (Paychex experience a plus) Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
PHR, SPHR, SHRM
CP or SCP certification desired Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information professionally Familiarity with compliance audits and HR best practices
Ok Competitive Compensation & Benefits:
Salary:
$60,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience
