Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting and administering a broad range of HR functions across multiple U.S. states. This role serves as a key operational partner to leadership and employees by ensuring effective HR administration, compliance, payroll processing, benefits management, HRIS oversight, employee relations support, and process adherence. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in maintaining compliant, efficient, and employee-focused HR operations while supporting organizational objectives and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process and administer multi-state payroll accurately and timely in coordination with Finance and ADP payroll. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Maintain payroll records, audit payroll data, and resolve payroll discrepancies. Serve as primary administrator for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Maintain employee data integrity, system configuration, workflows, and reporting capabilities. Create and maintain HR dashboards, analytics, and leadership reporting metrics. Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. Administer employee leaves of absence including
FMLA, ADA
accommodations, paid family leave, military leave, and state-specific leave programs. Coordinate workers' compensation claims administration and return-to-work processes. Support managers and employees in resolving workplace concerns and employee relations matters. Support the termination process for compliance, coaching, off boarding. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions. Develop, document, and improve HR processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures. Support onboarding, recruiting coordination, and employee lifecycle activities. Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in compliance with record retention requirements. Maintains confidentiality in all matters. Perform other HR Generalist duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or
SHRM-SCP
certification preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience in related industries required. Experience supporting multi-state U.S. operations strongly preferred. Experience with payroll processing and HRIS administration required. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or multi-site environments preferred. Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and HR best practices. Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll platforms (ADP experience preferred). Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Compensation The compensation range for this role is $80,000-$85,000, plus eligibility for an annual performance‑based bonus.
