Payroll and HR Coordinator Axis Therapy Centers - 3.3 Urbandale, IA Job Details Full-time $20 - $24 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Payroll & HR Coordinator Axis Therapy Centers | Full-Time | Remote with occasional clinic travel Behind every great clinician at Axis is someone making sure the details are handled. That someone is you. At Axis Therapy Centers, we're growing — and with that growth comes a need for someone who genuinely loves getting things right. Not just close. Right. If you're the kind of person who notices the error no one else caught, follows up before being asked, and finds real satisfaction in a process that runs exactly as it should — this role was built for you. Who We Are Axis Therapy Centers is a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic offering ABA therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services to children and families across Iowa. Our clinicians do life-changing work every day — and our administrative team makes sure they can focus on exactly that. You'll be the connective tissue between HR, payroll, compliance, and the employee experience — and your work will be felt across the entire organization. What You'll Own This isn't a role where you wait to be told what to do. You'll manage the full employee lifecycle — from the moment someone is hired to their last day — keeping every detail accurate, every deadline met, and every employee feeling supported along the way.
Your core responsibilities include:
Onboarding new hires — system setup, background checks, credential gathering, I-9 compliance, and making sure Day 1 goes smoothly Maintaining personnel files and employee records with accuracy and confidentiality Tracking training and certification expirations so nothing falls through the cracks Supporting benefits administration — eligibility reviews, premium deductions, and monthly audits Managing termination processing from start to finish — system deactivations, benefits termination, COBRA notices, and final recordkeeping Being a reliable, same-day point of contact for employee questions and administrative support What You Bring 1-3 years of HR, payroll, or administrative experience Sharp attention to detail — you catch things others miss and take pride in it Comfort working across multiple systems and platforms simultaneously Knowledge of onboarding processes including I-9 verification and background checks Clear, professional communication across phone, text, and email High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in HR or Business Administration is a plus Why You'll Love Working Here Remote-first role with flexibility and occasional clinic visits to stay connected to the team A mission-driven organization where your behind-the-scenes work directly supports kids and families A collaborative, supportive culture — you won't be figuring things out alone Room to grow as Axis grows — this role has long-term potential Ready to Be the Person Who Makes It All Run? The team is growing. The details matter. And we need someone who gets both. Apply today — we can't wait to meet you.
