Job description: HR Consultant (Per Diem / 1099 Contractor) We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant with an active SPHR certification to provide strategic and operational human resources support on an as-needed basis. This is a per diem, 1099 independent contractor position that does not qualify for employee benefits. The role is primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings required. Must have non profit experience.
Responsibilities include:
Advising on HR best practices, compliance, and employee relations Ensuring compliance with EEOC regulations and New Jersey Employment & Labor laws Assisting with employee grievances and investigations Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes Conducting staff surveys and providing analysis/recommendations Performing HR compliance reviews and risk assessments Developing, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures Providing guidance on workplace issues and organizational effectiveness
Qualifications:
Active SPHR certification required ( Agency will ask for a copy as proof during onboarding). Demonstrated knowledge of EEOC regulations and NJ Employment & Labor laws Experience handling grievances, compliance, and HR risk management Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
