(Primary) Travel Job Description The Administration Department is seeking two Human Resources Interns (30-35 hours/week) to support the Human Resources team of the North Central Texas Council of Governments. The Human Resources team supports a population of 415 employees and is responsible for various projects including: Policy & Procedure Development Organizational Development/Training Compensation Reviews Performance Management Recruiting Benefits Administration Onboarding Agency-wide projects Projects that span the region and state These individuals will support NCTCOG's Training & Development and Recruitment efforts and will provide support for the Human Resources team with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Training & Development:
Draft training topic announcements Coordinate room reservations and schedule various agency training sessions Assist the presenter during live training sessions with room set up, clean up, and slide advancement Assist with initial research for training topics Launch training and performance reviews Track and maintain attendance of participants as well as training program participants
Recruitment:
Draft internal and external correspondence, preparing presentations, and creating marketing materials Post positions on various job boards to support outreach efforts Draft social media posts Coordinate the distribution of information Support recruitment efforts through communicating with hiring managers, reviewing resumes and coordinate interviews with applicants Monitor application information through our Applicant Tracking System Coordinate and complete internal administrative support work
Business Hours & Attendance:
Our offices operate Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM. This intern will work a flexible weekly schedule of approximately 30-35 hours, and the position will work in NCTCOG offices (76011). Please note the internship is anticipated to begin in Summer 2026 and anticipated to conclude in June 2027 with the possibility of extending it further. The selected candidate(s) will be required to be in-office 3-4 days per week depending on their schedule.
Required Experience:
Current enrollment required in a 4-year university or graduate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication, or other related majors preferred Work experience is not required Graduate students preferred Students graduating after May 2027 preferred
Required Skills:
Excellent customer service focus Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal Detail-oriented and the ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines General business knowledge related to human resources and marketing Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to maintain confidentiality, conduct business in ethical manner, present a credible image, and accept and follow direction
Salary & Benefits:
$17.09 - $19.14 USD per hour - depending on educational level, experience, and qualifications 3.5% match into an eligible retirement plan Flexibility with class schedules based on performance, job duties, and business requirements
