Serves as Custodian of Records; Maintains County employee records and other Human Resources records in compliance with the State of Texas Retention Schedule; Ensures the implementation of proper disposal of records in accordance with retention guidelines Reviews, provides and responds to open records requests, subpoenas and Brady Requests for information on behalf of the HR department; Provide necessary documents to County Attorney or District Attorney's Office. Responsible for completion of the Employment Verification process for internal/external requestors Administers the County's retirement plan and provide guidance to prospective retirees through individual meetings and informational seminars to support understanding of program benefits and processes Responsible for retirement plan enrollments and terminations Conducts weekly orientation sessions for new employees to facilitate onboarding and provide an overview of organizational policies and procedures Prepares, edits and distributes employee newsletter Coordinates employee discount program; Works with vendors and maintains current list of employee and retiree discounts. Assists with other special projects and other duties as assigned. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED 3 years prior experience in HR related field Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Proficient in the use of computers and software, including Microsoft Office Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both orally and written Ability to work with limited supervision and make independent decisions based on established standards and procedures Ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.
STARTING SALARY
$25.71 - $32.14 hourly based on qualifications
