Job Description
Company Overview P&E Constructors is an employee-owned (ESOP) mechanical and electrical construction firm executing large capital projects with deep roots in the industrial construction sector. Since 1946, we've delivered fabrication and installation services with a commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and client-focused solutions. Position Overview The Industrial Relations Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting labor relations across the organization, with a focus on union environments, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), and workforce compliance. This role partners closely with Operations, HR, Legal, and Project Leadership to ensure consistent application of labor agreements, minimize risk, and promote productive working relationships between management and the workforce. This role will require 50-75% travel to project sites. Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact for labor and union relations across assigned projects or regions Interpret, administer, and provide guidance on Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) Advise leadership on union contract terms, labor obligations, and past practices Build and maintain effective relationships with union representatives and support union engagement efforts Manage the grievance process from intake through resolution, including investigations and response preparation Partner with Legal and leadership teams on escalated labor disputes and resolutions Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and union agreements Identify labor relations risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize exposure Provide labor relations guidance and support to Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership Support workforce planning and staffing strategies in alignment with union requirements and project needs Advise management on employee discipline, corrective actions, and terminations within union environments Assist with collective bargaining preparation, negotiations, and labor impact analysis Support the drafting and review of labor agreements and related documentation Track, analyze, and report labor relations metrics, trends, and workforce data to support decision-making Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field 5+ years' experience in labor relations Knowledge of labor laws and union practices Grievance handling experience Strong communication and conflict resolution skills Total Rewards & Benefits At P&E Constructors, we believe in rewarding our employees through competitive compensation, employee ownership, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your financial wellbeing, health, and future. Compensation & Employee Ownership The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role. Salary Range:
