HR Generalist - $23-$26/hr - Alexandria, VA

Our client, a nonprofit organization is seeking an HR Generalist to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis in Alexandria, Virginia. Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.

About The Job:

Provide administrative support to HR and Payroll teams Serve as primary contact for employee inquiries; escalate complex issues Maintain confidential HR records and update HRIS (Paycom preferred) Ensure compliance with I-9 and E-Verify requirements Support onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes Assist with training coordination and performance management communications Prepare HR reports, compliance documentation, and presentations Process employment verifications and unemployment requests Plan and execute employee events and support HR projects

About You:

Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field 3+ years of HR experience SHRM-CP or PHR strongly preferred Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Experience with HRIS; Paycom preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office required Spanish bilingual is highly preferred
