Job Description

We are looking for an HR Generalist to support a manufacturing organization in Richmond, Virginia through a Contract position. This role will serve as a key resource for day-to-day human resources operations, helping employees and managers with routine HR matters while maintaining accurate documentation and dependable administrative support. The ideal candidate brings strong organization, sound judgment, and the ability to coordinate recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and payroll-related activities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain employee files, HR records, and documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and general human resources matters, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Coordinate recruitment support activities such as scheduling interviews, tracking candidates, and assisting with new employee documentation.
  • Facilitate onboarding tasks to ensure new employees have a smooth start, including paperwork completion and orientation support.
  • Assist with payroll preparation by reviewing personnel changes, verifying data, and helping resolve discrepancies.
  • Support benefits administration by processing enrollment updates, answering basic coverage questions, and maintaining related records.
  • Use HRIS tools to enter, update, and audit employee information to keep systems current and reliable.
  • Partner with the HR team to help daily department operations run efficiently and consistently.
