At Alter Behavioral Health, the Recruiter is a key driver of our mission, responsible for identifying, engaging, and hiring exceptional talent across clinical, operational, and corporate roles. You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a high-quality candidate experience and efficient, compliant hiring processes that fuel the organization's growth. This role is ideal for a results-driven recruiter who is passionate about talent acquisition and thrives in a high-volume, mission-driven healthcare environment. What You'll Do Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Operations Lead full-cycle recruitment for clinical, operations, nursing, and corporate positions across the organization. Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and develop accurate, compliant job descriptions aligned with regulatory and licensing requirements. Source and engage qualified candidates through job boards, social media, professional networks, referrals, community partnerships, and industry events. Conduct candidate screenings and guide hiring teams through structured interview and selection processes. Coordinate all stages of the hiring process, including scheduling interviews, collecting feedback, facilitating hiring decisions, and extending offers. Maintain accurate candidate records, requisitions, and hiring activity within Paycom and other recruitment systems. Build and maintain talent pipelines to support current and future workforce needs. Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers by providing guidance on candidate selection, compensation ranges, market competitiveness, and recruiting best practices. Develop relationships with educational institutions, licensing programs, and professional organizations to strengthen long-term recruiting efforts. Compensation, Job Description Management & Compliance Conduct compensation and market research to ensure pay practices remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational goals. Partner with leadership to provide compensation recommendations and support workforce planning initiatives. Create, update, and maintain job descriptions that meet organizational, licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards. Ensure recruiting and hiring practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as DHSS, Joint Commission, and organizational requirements. Monitor and support staff CPI reassessments and other compliance-related workforce requirements Employee Experience & Organizational Development Partner with Operations, Clinical Leadership, People & Culture, and Executive Leadership to identify staffing challenges and workforce improvement opportunities. Support employee retention initiatives through analysis of onboarding feedback, employee surveys, engagement data, and exit trends. Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership to improve employee satisfaction, retention, and organizational culture. Participate in employee engagement and satisfaction initiatives, helping drive continuous improvement across the organization. Metrics & Strategic Reporting Track and report on recruiting performance metrics, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, hiring manager satisfaction, and retention trends. Analyze workforce data to identify opportunities for process improvements and organizational growth. Support strategic workforce planning initiatives and provide insights to leadership regarding labor market conditions and hiring trends. What We're Looking For Proven ability to manage a high-volume, full-cycle recruiting desk in a fast-paced setting Expert relationship builder with strong stakeholder management and advisory skills Deep knowledge of creative sourcing strategies and talent acquisition best practices Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-focused Committed to ethical recruiting practices and delivering an exceptional candidate experience Preferred Qualifications Experience recruiting for clinical or operational roles within a behavioral health or healthcare environment Experience utilizing Paycom or similar
HRIS/ATS
platforms Familiarity with California's complex labor laws related to hiring and pre-employment screening Certification in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. High School Diploma required. At least three (3) years of progressive, full-cycle recruiting experience Demonstrated ability to manage complex scheduling and candidate logistics Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and Google Workspace Requirements Valid California Driver's License required CPR & First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start) Must pass Live Scan fingerprint clearance Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer Ability to manage administrative, documentation, and coordination tasks throughout the day Occasional movement within an office environment Compliance Employment is contingent upon: Successful Live Scan clearance Completion of required background screening and employment verification Compliance with DHCS, DSS, Joint Commission standards, HIPAA, and applicable California employment laws
