Job Description

Community Outreach/ Student Recruiter Specialist - Job posting Housed Working and Healthy has an immediate opening for a Community Outreach/ Student Recruiter Specialist to help us expand and serve more people. Are you passionate and excited to make positive change in our community, and take us and yourself to the next level? We offer career advancement opportunities, a close working relationship with the Operations Manager as a direct report and the Executive Director, staff and participants, and the opportunity to impact and work broadly across the organization. This is an ideal position for the person that has initiative, leadership, flexibility, is fast paced, and likes to make things happen.
Position Summary:
Daily visits at referring agencies (homeless shelters, day shelters, etc.) to create awareness about our culinary training program and recruit prospective students to meet our enrollment goals on a weekly and monthly basis. Interview prospective students and verify they are a good fit based on our screening process. Motivate, encourage, follow-up and schedule accepted prospects to come in and preview the program, and successfully enroll. Provide support and mentoring to prospective and current students. Develop relationships with existing and new referring partners. Manage online recruiting tools and Social Media to recruit new students. Regularly meet with staff to refine our process to maximize the number of people we serve, and our effectiveness in helping them graduate, gain employment, stay employed, secure housing and move forward on their path to self-sufficiency. This position reports to the Operations Manager and works in coordination with others in the recruiting department and the rest of the organization.
Qualifications :
Education:
BS in Human Services or similar degree preferred.
Experience:
3+ years hands on experience in an outreach role in a multicultural environment, serving adults with multiple barriers to employment. Prior experience working with community service providers and lived experience is helpful. Highly computer savvy with strong software and database skills
Other:
Must possess own transportation, have a good driving record, maintain a valid driver's license and provide proof of insurance coverage that meets agency coverage standards; possess basic computer skills and be able to work virtually. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for outreach and regular visits to referring agencies in order to recruit students, in coordination with other HWH staff. The ideal candidate is someone interested and capable in helping out and driving broad change throughout the organization. Outreach to support service agencies and public organizations in order to increase referrals. Several visits every week to different agencies. Focus on expanding the list of referral sources and community partnerships. Meet with individuals experiencing homelessness and those with housing insecurity, and provide information about our program. Assess level of interest and degree of fit. Encourage prospective students to come to HWH for a preview. Identify other community partners, identify mutual agency benefits, negotiate partnership models, roles and responsibilities. Develop and implement online and Social Media recruiting tools in coordination with our Marketing team. Utilize HWH database to maintain participant data Maintain compliance with all participant information, documents and paperwork. Help out in our operations as needed to ensure all activities are executed successfully. Works with a cooperative attitude, flexible to provide support to other departments, takes initiative and has a can-do attitude. Other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
This position has an annual salary of $52-55K plus incentives and is a full-time job. Full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package. About Housed Working and Healthy Our mission is to help people return to independent living and be self-sufficient. The HWH model is partner based and encompasses workforce training and mental health services. This supportive structure and services helps people stabilize, develop a support network, become trained, gain experience, get a job, secure independent housing and ultimately become self-sufficient. We work with local agencies that refer clients to our free culinary training program. Our curriculum is delivered in our commercial kitchen (Ft Logan Eatery) on the Ft Logan campus in SW Denver in partnership with Emily Griffith Technical College (participants receive course credit) over a 4 week period. After completing the curriculum, students continue onsite for an additional 8 - 12 weeks to further prepare for long term employment.
