DESCRIPTION
The Staffing Specialist is a branch employee responsible for recruiting and matching temporary employees (talent) with available jobs. To accomplish this successfully, a Staffing Specialist will need to learn the LaborWorks fulfilment process (training is provided), be able to follow operational processes, and use LaborWorks talent tracking software. Just as important are the people skills (compassion, empathy, patience, friendliness) when working with colleagues and talent.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following: Performs recruiting activities in accordance to LaborWorks policies, procedures and training. Reviews employment applications and interviews applicants (talent) to evaluate work history, skills, education, training, job skills, compensation needs, and other qualifications. Qualifies the candidates face-to-face, and runs necessary tests and checks (drug tests, background check). Reviews job orders and matches talent with job requirements. Informs talent of job responsibilities, compensation, work schedules, working conditions, policies, safety procedures, and other information. Dispatches qualified talent to client organization and follows up with client on talent performance. Handles incoming prospect calls/inside sales functions.
Responsible for In-house recruiting efforts:
(i.e. appointment setting, account rosters, bump lists, etc...). Participates in collection efforts. Onboards talent and maintains records, including I-9 Employment Verification, E-Verify and other compliance. Updates and retrieves talent information in computerized payroll/tracking systems to ensure proper payment to talent and billing to client. Answers phone in professional and courteous manner, operate computers, printers, fax and copy machines and files. Assists with injured worker process and paperwork and follows up with Branch Operations Manager, Branch Sales Manager and Human Resources staff. Assists with day-to-day dispatch duties. Maintains a neat and organized work environment while performing clerical responsibilities as part of normal business procedures. Participates in leadership and team building, follows culture of ethical high performance aligned with LaborWorks' values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to: Perform each essential duty satisfactorily, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be a high school graduate. Must have one or more years customer service experience with basic computer skills. Willing to be trained for specific computer programs and able to follow processes.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to effectively communicate in an appropriate fashion to meet employee and customer expectations. Must be able to write legibly. Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish, or a similar second language used in the neighborhood).
MATHMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to perform routine calculations consistent with the ninth-grade computations.
REASONING SKILLS
Must be able to multi-task, stay calm, and provide excellent, efficient service in a sometimes loud and busy environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Combination of sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to occasionally bend, stoop, lift (up to 5 lbs), stand, and monitor an area of 25'. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
