Do you thrive on building relationships, engaging communities, and supporting student success? The Next Step Public Charter School is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and mission-driven Seasonal Part-Time Student Recruitment & Retention Specialist to join our Enrollment Team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in attracting new students, supporting enrollment efforts, promoting attendance, and helping students stay engaged on their path to graduation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys community outreach, student advocacy, and making a meaningful impact every day. What You'll Do Student Recruitment & Community Engagement Build relationships with local high schools, community organizations, apprenticeship programs, and youth-serving agencies. Represent The Next Step PCS at community events, resource fairs, and outreach activities. Support recruitment campaigns and generate innovative ideas to increase student enrollment. Conduct school tours and information sessions for prospective students and families. Help maintain and execute strategic outreach and recruitment plans. Student Retention & Attendance Support Support school-wide attendance and retention initiatives. Encourage and reinforce positive attendance habits with students and families. Assist in identifying students at risk of chronic absenteeism and support intervention efforts. Conduct home visits when appropriate. Coordinate student attendance incentives and special engagement events. Facilitate presentations related to attendance and transportation programs. Manage distribution of student transportation assistance. Enrollment & Student Records Guide applicants through the enrollment process from inquiry to registration. Support bi-annual enrollment periods and enrollment events. Verify residency documentation and assist with enrollment audits. Maintain accurate student records and data within the student information system. Process student records requests while ensuring FERPA compliance. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications High School Diploma or
GED. 2-4
years of administrative, enrollment, customer service, outreach, or related experience. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable using databases, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and student information systems. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. Experience working in education, nonprofit organizations, workforce development, or youth-serving programs. Experience with student recruitment, enrollment, attendance, or retention initiatives.
