The Staffing Specialist for the North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC) helps expand our mission-driven staffing model into Wayne County and surrounding areas. This role combines recruiting, interviewing, and placing candidates with building relationships and developing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is a people-focused professional who thrives on connecting talent to opportunity, growing employer partnerships, and advancing community-based workforce development. This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission, rewarding success in both placements and business development.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Placement & Business Development Recruit, interview, and identify candidates for temporary and temp-to-hire placements with area employers. Conduct pre-employment screenings, background checks, and onboarding processes. Lead client-specific orientations and training sessions to prepare associates for work assignments. Use job boards, social media, and proactive outreach to attract qualified job seekers. Develop and expand new business relationships with local employers, organizations, and industry partners. Identify and pursue growth opportunities in staffing and workforce development across Wayne County and surrounding areas. Collaborate with leadership to set and achieve business development goals related to placements, client retention, and revenue growth. Track outreach efforts, client leads, and business activity in the staffing database to support strategic planning and reporting. Client & Partner Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers, workforce agencies, and training partners. Respond promptly to client requests for staffing support and assist with associate-related issues. Provide coaching, counseling, or replacement support as needed to ensure client satisfaction. Represent NECIC Staffing at community events, job fairs, and business networking functions to promote our mission and services. Administrative & Operational Support Maintain accurate and confidential employee and client records in the Applicant Tracking System. Coordinate with NECIC's finance and operations teams to support payroll, reporting, and compliance needs. Support safety training and communication during onboarding and throughout associate assignments. Community & Mission Alignment Uphold and promote NECIC's values of equity, empowerment, and second-chance employment in every interaction. Partner with community organizations to connect individuals facing employment barriers to supportive services. Represent NECIC on committees, workgroups, and local workforce initiatives across Wayne County. The Chief Executive Officer or the Chief Operating Officer may assign other duties as necessary.
Required Experience and Skills:
Sales Experience-preferably outside sales. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Works well independently or with a team. Attention to detail. Professionalism and courteous to all job seekers. Comfortable working with diverse populations.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for this position: High School Diploma. Excellent computer skills; preferably experience with APS or CRM and/or Microsoft Office 365. Valid Ohio Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with NECIC & North End Community Economic Development Plan. Bachelor's Degree. Payroll Experience. Physical Demands for Staffing Specialist The Staffing Specialist position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods during interviews, meetings, and other office-based tasks. Occasional walking and standing are necessary during site visits, job fairs, and client meetings. The role involves lifting and carrying materials such as job descriptions, promotional items, and office supplies, with a weight limit of up to 25 lbs. The specialist must have sufficient vision and manual dexterity to effectively read resumes, input data, and operate office equipment such as computers and telephones. Occasional local travel may be required to attend job fairs, career events, and client visits.
