Job description: A partnership between the California Department of Rehabilitation (CDOR) and the Institute for Workplace Skills and Innovation America (IWSIA), the Ready, Willing and Able program represents a new approach to creating employment opportunities for Californians with disabilities, leveraging the unique features of the registered apprenticeship model to enable people with disabilities to prepare for, start, and maintain ongoing employment. The Employer Recruiter will use their existing proven employer networks to either expand or introduce registered apprenticeship to employers and open vacancies for these apprentices to commence paid work and training. This role will commence in July 2026. The role will be accountable for the following outcomes: Use existing networks to sell the concept of Registered Apprenticeship, Pre-Apprenticeships, and standard hires to employers and open vacancies Represent Ready, Willing and Able in public forums, develop and lead events and presentations to stakeholders and potential partners, advocating for the program Identify potential sources for funding and resource support Contribute to the strategic development of Ready, Willing and Able, working with the Ready, Willing and Able team to expand its scope and activities of the program Ensure Ready, Willing and Able program goals are met in a timely manner Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge The ideal candidate will have: proven history in securing sales with large multi-national organizations Demonstrated and proven operational experience in liaising with employers to open vacancies and source talent. Minimum 5 years of documented experience. applied knowledge of Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programs as administered by the U.S. Department of Labor and the California Department of Apprenticeship Services knowledge of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to the employment of individuals living with a disability ability to work well with diverse populations ability to apply problem-solving techniques and maintain flexibility when dealing with complex issues ability to effectively communicate when speaking and writing ability to work independently
