The Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist providesconsultation and guidance in planning, sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding the right talent to position for success in meeting its short and long-term goals. The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating closely with Compensation on offers and evaluations and working closely with HR Business Partnersto address any HR matters. The STAS will help with external recruiting programs and initiatives to expand thediversity of the applicant pools and promote community partnerships to increase awareness and accessibility ofemployment opportunities. The Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist embraces and advances the university's HR mission of attracting, developing,retaining, and engaging a high-performing workforce in support of excellence in the university's mission, whilepromoting diversity, equity, civility, and respect. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Collaborates with hiring managers on the overall recruiting process. Establishes hiring criteria based onorganization structure, job descriptions, requisition intake form, and competencies. Provides advice and assistance with job descriptions and postings and consults with Compensation. Develops recruiting plans that leverage knowledge of internal and external markets. Creates innovative sourcing strategies for passive and diverse candidates through both established andcreative methods such as job posting, internal databases, employee referrals, online job boards anddatabases, data mining of the internet, social media, career fairs, etc Leverages prospecting and networking skills to build and maintain a network of contacts and potentialcandidates. Cultivates and maintains relationships with professional associations. Attends appropriate conferences andassociation meetings to network as necessary. Identify and network with colleges and universities that have graduate programs in research administration toidentify candidates and referrals. Develops and implements communication strategies to market the organization to potential applicants. Workscollaboratively with marketing and communications resources to ensure that applicable media (printmaterials, online presence, social media, etc.) reflect and convey an appropriate image for current and futureemployees. Collaborates with external recruitment firms for retained or contingent searches. This includes researchingand screening for appropriate firms, supporting firm selection, facilitating procurement of firms throughappropriate university processes, and overseeing and managing the work of the firm to ensure deliverablesare achieved. Ensures that diverse pools of talent are identified and leveraged for candidate sourcing and ensures thatdiverse slates of candidates are presented to hiring managers. Advises senior management on trends andopportunities identified in seeking diverse candidate pools. Manages and/or coordinates selection procedures including applicant tracking, interviewing, assessing,reference checking, and background checking. Reviews and filters applications (online applications, resumes,and cover letters) for minimum qualifications. Screens and interviews viable (or potential) applicants forfunctional competence, applicable background, relevant skills, individual goals, and fit with organization. Assists hiring managers in the evaluation of applicants' qualifications and selection of the most qualifiedcandidates. Advises on effective candidate assessment and interview techniques including use of behavioral-based interview questions. Facilitates and oversees search panels when employed in the evaluation andselection of candidates. Collaborates with hiring managers and compensation to develop appropriateemployment offers and drafts offer letters. Ensures coordination of post-offer pre-employment activities. Ensures a positive candidate experience throughout the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process. Maintainseffective communication and coordination with all parties involved to engage promising candidates and createthe right impression of the organization. Ensures that recruiting and employment practices are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Partners with HR colleagues and others in the administration, evaluation, and continuous improvement of aneffective recruitment and onboarding program for new employees. . Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or other related field. A degreein specialty area of recruiting may also be considered (Nursing, IT, etc.), if applicable. Three years of related experience that demonstrates a progressive and pro-active approach to the recruitmentof talent. Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitutefor required education, to the extent permitted by the company's equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications Works extensively with the web, databases and spreadsheets, Applicant Tracking System, Microsoft Office and electronic mail. Prioritizes multiple responsibilities. Collaborates effectively with others. Creative and resourcefulness skills needed to be able to handle various HR issues and concerns effectivelywhile maintaining confidentiality. Problem solves and resolves conflict; researches, analyzes and interprets data. Communicates well verbally and in writing. Demonstrates strong initiative and energy, as well as a cooperative spirit. Special skills and knowledge Utilize strong influencing and negotiation skills to provide appropriate counsel and advice to stakeholders andcolleagues. Develop recruitment strategies using creativity, innovation and resourcefulness. Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, judgment, conflict resolution, anddecision-making skills. Maintain confidentiality, tact and diplomacy. Ability to be resourceful and work independently. Proficiency with the internet, databases, Microsoft Office, job boards, social media, applicant tracking systemsand electronic mail. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Successful experience sourcing active and passive candidates. Must be able to interact effectively will all levels of management and employees, as well as with thecandidate population. Handle various HR issues and concerns effectively while maintaining privacy. Ability to research, analyze and interpret data. Strong initiative and energy, as well as a cooperative spirit. #IND2
