RATE OF PAY

$15.76 per hour

NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK

40 hours per week (may be subject to change). The position will be available June 15 and end July 24.

LOCATION

Tazewell and Bland/Smyth/Wythe service area;

DUTIES:

The Head Start Preschool/Early Head Start Recruiter will recruit potential children for the Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start programs. This individual will be the first line of contact for parents as they complete the application process. Additionally, this individual will work with management to process children's completed applications, ensure that all needed documentation is submitted for each application, and finalize the application before it is submitted to the Selection Committee;

EDUCATION

Must be proficient in oral and written communication; Must demonstrate an ability to gather data and organize it into a cohesive report; Must demonstrate computer literacy; Must be familiar with the ethnic background, be able to communicate in the language of families in the program and be able to serve and effectively communicate, to the extent feasible, with children and families with limited English proficiency;

ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

Must have a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and access to personal automobile with up-to-date liability insurance;

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have TB screening or PPD, Physical, CPS, DMV, Criminal Record check, pre-employment drug screening and have satisfactory reference checks;

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

: Ability to lift and carry a minimum 25 pounds. This position requires bending, hearing, lifting, walking, talking, seeing, sitting, running, and stooping;

PREFERENCES

(Current and former Head Start parent, active Agency volunteers, current work experience participants, interns);
