What you have:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree. 6 years of experience in talent acquisition, human resources, or a related field, including full-cycle recruiting experience and involvement in hiring strategy, recruiting operations, or process improvement efforts. 2 years of experience leading others either formally in a managerial role, or informally as a project or team lead. Proven ability to develop and implement talent acquisition strategies, processes, or initiatives in partnership with business leaders to meet hiring needs. Strong understanding of talent market trends, recruiting standard processes, and employment laws and regulations. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and partners. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruiting technologies.What sets you apart:
Leadership experience leading technology recruiting teams, with experience coaching recruiters and establishing effective operating rhythms (such as 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and calibrations) that support recruiter effectiveness while improving speed of hiring, quality outcomes, and stakeholder confidence. Experience partnering with senior engineering, product, and technology leaders to support hiring intake discussions, interview design, leveling and compensation alignment, and informed hiring decisions while balancing priorities and expectations. Hands‑on experience with full‑cycle technical recruiting, including sourcing strategy, passive candidate engagement, talent mapping, and delivering a positive candidate experience—particularly for senior or hard‑to‑fill technical roles. Strong knowledge of recruiting analytics and operational metrics, with the ability to use funnel data and capacity insights to identify challenges, improve hiring efficiency, and support outcomes such as time to slate and offer acceptance. Experience leading change in recruiting environments, including contributing to best practice process improvements, interviewer readiness, compliance, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.Compensation range:
The salary range for this position is: $103,450- $197,730.
Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
