Job Description:
The Training Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving training programs, operational procedures, and learning resources across all locations. This role serves as the liaison between Operations and Training, ensuring consistent execution of company standards, successful new store openings, and ongoing development of team members and leaders. The Training Manager leads the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training videos, certification programs, and leadership development initiatives. This position also oversees Corporate Field Trainers, identifies performance and training gaps, fine-tunes operational processes, and provides strategic support to drive operational excellence and business growth.
Responsibilities, Abilities & Skills:
Training Strategy & Program Development Conduct organizational, operational, and individual performance needs assessments to identify training opportunities and skill gaps. Design, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive training programs for all levels of the organization. Create and maintain SOPs, training manuals, instructional guides, e-learning modules, and video-based learning content. Develop structured onboarding, certification, and recertification programs for hourly employees and managers. Establish training roadmaps and development pathways that support career growth and succession planning. Continuously update training materials to reflect operational changes, new products, technology enhancements, and company initiatives. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement Identify operational inefficiencies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, workflows, and execution standards. Develop and implement standardized procedures for food preparation, service, sanitation, safety, and customer experience. Partner with Operations leadership to ensure training programs support business objectives and performance goals. Analyze training effectiveness and operational performance data to recommend improvements and corrective actions New Store Opening Leadership Lead all training-related activities for new store openings. Coordinate opening timelines and training schedules with Operations and field support teams. Manage new store readiness by overseeing: Smallware's and operational equipment ordering Vendor and account setup coordination Store setup and operational preparation Training logistics and resource deployment Serve as the primary liaison between Operations and Training to ensure seamless execution during pre-opening, opening, and post-opening phases. Field Training Management Recruit, develop, coach, and manage Corporate Field Trainers. Ensure consistency in training delivery, coaching methods, and operational standards across all locations. Schedule and deploy training support resources based on business needs, store performance, and growth initiatives. Conduct field visits to evaluate training effectiveness, operational compliance, and team performance. Performance Management & Learning Effectiveness Establish measurable training KPIs, including: Training completion rates Certification compliance Speed to productivity Operational performance improvements Employee engagement and retention Evaluate participant learning outcomes through assessments, observations, and performance metrics. Measure the organizational impact of training programs and recommend improvements based on findings. Ensure training initiatives drive accountability, consistency, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
What we expect from you:
Define success metrics to track training impact on store performance, speed to productivity, and team engagement. Continuously optimize training content based on feedback, outcomes, and business goals. Foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement. Evaluate effectiveness in participants' obtaining, retaining and demonstrating of the new acquired knowledge, behaviors, skills, attitudes and competencies. Evaluate organizational impact (as needed/agreed/required). Evaluate effectiveness of the instructional design in facilitating effective participant learning.
Job Type:
Full-time 40 hrs. per week
Available Schedule Requirement:
8 hours day shift, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm 1 hr. lunch Day & Evening shift Able to work Holidays Maximum 40hrs per week May require occasional overtime hours with approval
Education:
Bachelor's degree (Preferably in Business) 2-4 years of progressive experience in training and development, ideally in a retail or Food Industry - Coffee related preferred.
License/Certification/ Experience:
2+ years of experience (Preferably in the Food & Beverage Industry) OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Location:
Work location: In-person Monday - Friday May be required to travel across all Da Vien Coffee Shop locations. Open availability, including occasional weekends and holidays.
