Job Description

Director of Planning and Training B&D Services, Inc. - Independence, Iowa B&D Services, Inc. is growing, and now is an exciting time to join our team. We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated professional to serve as our Director of Planning and Training . The Director of Planning and Training is responsible for the development and oversight of person-centered planning, staff development, agency training programs, and workforce competency initiatives. This position ensures that individuals receiving services have meaningful, person-centered plans that support desired outcomes, individual rights, health and safety, and community inclusion. This role provides supervision to the Bridges Coordinator and oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of agency-wide training programs. The Director will support employee development and empowerment, coordinate mentoring and instructional activities, and collaborate with agency leadership to support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance. Preferred Experience and Skills Qualified applicants should have: Direct support experience working with individuals with disabilities Experience developing and implementing person-centered plans Experience developing and/or delivering staff training programs Supervisory or leadership experience preferred Basic proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams Qualifications Applicants must: Be at least 18 years of age Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field Have 3-5 years of experience in disability services, human services, home and community-based services, behavioral health, staff development, training, or a related field A combination of relevant education, training, and experience will also be considered. Additional Requirements Candidates must be able to: Work on-site and travel between service locations and community sites Conduct in-person training activities and demonstrations Perform occasional direct support duties as operationally needed Physical demands may include sitting, standing, lifting training materials, and regular use of office equipment.
