Job Description

Our client is seeking a Learning & Training Manager to build and lead a centralized learning and development function within a growing manufacturing organization. This role will be responsible for creating a cohesive, company-wide training strategy that establishes consistency, accountability, and measurable employee development across all levels of the organization. This position will initially focus on developing and implementing training programs for hourly manufacturing employees, ensuring new hires and existing team members have the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to perform safely and effectively. Over time, the scope of the role will expand to include supervisory, management, and executive-level development initiatives. The ideal candidate understands the realities of a manufacturing environment and has firsthand experience designing training programs that resonate with hourly employees while also possessing the professionalism and communication skills necessary to partner with senior leadership.

Compensation:
$100k - $125k (bonus potential) What You'll Do Establish and lead the company's first centralized learning and development program Evaluate existing training practices across departments and create a standardized approach to onboarding, skills development, and employee growth Design, develop, and implement training programs for production, maintenance, quality, warehouse, and other hourly workforce populations Deliver instructor-led training and hands-on learning sessions while building scalable training resources Partner with department leaders and subject matter experts to document processes and convert operational knowledge into structured training programs Develop train-the-trainer programs that equip supervisors and managers to effectively coach and train their teams Create skill matrices, competency assessments, training roadmaps, and career progression frameworks Establish methods for measuring training effectiveness, employee proficiency, and overall program impact Support organizational initiatives including new equipment implementation, process improvements, cross-training efforts, and workforce development planning Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership regarding employee development, succession planning, and organizational capability building Assist in the selection, implementation, and management of learning technologies and training systems as the function evolves Build development programs that support employees from entry-level production roles through leadership positions What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree required Significant experience leading training, learning, workforce development, or organizational development initiatives within a manufacturing environment Demonstrated success building training programs from the ground up rather than simply facilitating existing content Strong understanding of hourly workforce dynamics, adult learning principles, and hands-on training methodologies Experience developing onboarding, technical skills training, cross-training, and leadership development programs Ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels, from production floor team members to executive leadership Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills Proven ability to influence leaders and drive organizational change Experience creating training materials, competency frameworks, and performance support resources Comfortable working independently and establishing structure in a newly created function Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing or managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) Professional certifications in learning, talent development, project management, or human resources Background supporting manufacturing environments focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, or Lean principles Experience developing leadership and management training programs Interested?
