Position Summary Information Responsibilities The Director of Workforce and Teacher Education Initiatives provides leadership for efforts that strengthen workforce development pathways and educator preparation pipelines aligned with the university's strategic plan, as well as regional, state, and national priorities. This role is central to expanding K-12 and industry partnerships, advancing economic and workforce development outcomes through innovative outreach, and addressing teacher shortages through academic programming and credentialing. The Director collaborates closely with faculty, academic leaders, school districts, workforce agencies, and employers to develop initiatives that improve access, completion, licensure, and employment outcomes in high-need fields. Primary areas of responsibility:
Strategic Leadership and Institutional Alignment:
Provides vision and leadership for workforce and teacher education initiatives; leads development of alternative credentialing pathways, residency and grow-your-own models; teaches in the education program.
Faculty-Centered Program Innovation:
Partners with faculty, academic leaders, and workforce leaders to design programs, credentials, and micro-credentials aligned with licensure, accreditation, and workforce demand. K-12,
Industry, and Community Partnerships:
Serves as primary liaison to school districts, employers, workforce boards, and agencies; expands clinical experiences, residencies, internships, and apprenticeships; represents the institution in regional and statewide initiatives; coordinates the PEP pathway for teacher assistants and other education professionals.
Data, Accountability, and Accreditation Alignment:
Monitors enrollment, completion, licensure, and employment outcomes; prepares reports aligned with state workforce metrics and accreditation requirements; supports continuous improvement.
Administrative and Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages budgets and timelines; supports policy analysis and strategic planning related to workforce and educator preparation. Qualifications Master's degree; leadership experience in teacher education, workforce development, or higher education administration; experience with partnerships and data-informed decision-making. Salary Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree required; leadership experience in teacher education, workforce development, or higher education administration; experience with partnerships and data-informed decision-making. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in education or related field to the position; K-12 teaching experience; experience in leadership; experience in workforce development Special Instructions to Applicants Additional Information Position involves regular engagement with campus and off-campus partners.
