Position Description:
The Director of Workforce Development provides leadership and coordination for the district's workforce readiness, career-technical education partnerships, career pathways, business engagement, and postsecondary transition initiatives. The position is responsible for developing and sustaining programs that prepare students for college, careers, military service, apprenticeships, and industry credentials while ensuring alignment with Ohio Department of Education and Workforce graduation requirements and regional workforce needs. Qualifications a.) Required
  • Master's degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid Ohio administrative and/or superintendent license
  • Experience in workforce development, career education, business partnerships, university admissions, or related field.
  • Experience with career-technical education and grant management. b.) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of workforce development strategies, career readiness, and Ohio graduation pathways.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with business and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Essential Duties and Responsibilities a.) Program Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and oversee district workforce development initiatives and career readiness programs.
  • Coordinate career exploration, career advising, and work-based learning opportunities for students.
  • Support the development of career pathways aligned with regional workforce demands.
  • Promote student attainment of industry-recognized credentials and employability skills. b.) Business and Community Partnerships
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industries, colleges, universities, apprenticeship programs, and community organizations.
  • Coordinate internships, job shadowing, mentorships, apprenticeships, and other experiential learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with economic development agencies, Business Advisory Councils, and workforce boards. c.) Career-Technical and Postsecondary Coordination
  • Serve as liaison with career and technical education providers and postsecondary institutions.
  • Assist students and families with college and career readiness planning.
  • Coordinate dual enrollment, College Credit Plus (CCP), and workforce credential opportunities where applicable. d.) Grant and Program Management
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities related to workforce development and career readiness.
  • Manage assigned program budgets and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Prepare required reports and documentation for state and federal programs. e.) Data and Accountability
  • Monitor and analyze workforce development program outcomes and student participation data.
  • Support district accountability measures related to career readiness and graduation pathways.
  • Use data to evaluate program effectiveness and guide continuous improvement. f.) Staff Support and Professional Development
  • Provide training and resources to staff related to career readiness and workforce initiatives.
  • Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and teachers to integrate career readiness into instruction. g.) Student and Family Engagement
  • Promote awareness of career pathways and workforce opportunities among students and families.
  • Coordinate career fairs, signing days, informational sessions, and workforce-related events. Working Conditions
