POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Workforce & Employer Engagement is responsible for the development, coordination, promotion, and evaluation of workforce development initiatives, member engagement activities, training programs, consulting services, and strategic employer partnerships. This position works closely with member companies, instructors, workforce partners, and Association leadership to ensure programs and services align with member needs and organizational goals. The Director serves as a key relationship manager for member engagement, workforce initiatives, professional development programming, and Association events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training & Workforce Development Develop, coordinate, and oversee public and customized training programs for member and non-member companies. Prepare training catalog. Review course outlines, participant materials, presentations, and audiovisual content to ensure quality and program effectiveness. Assess workforce training needs through member visits, consultations, surveys, and industry engagement. Develop training proposals and workforce development plans based on employer needs. Research trends, best practices, and emerging workforce issues to ensure training offerings remain current and competitive. Schedule training dates, facilities, instructors, and instructional delivery methods, including in-person and virtual programming. Maintain training calendars, profitability reports, attendance records, and program evaluations. Create and present training activity and profitability reports for Board of Directors meetings. Oversee instructor relationships, contracts, evaluations, attendance records, and payment processes. Maintain training files, records, and program documentation in accordance with Association procedures. Apply for and maintain HRCI and SHRM Approved Provider status and continuing education credits. Track staff training plans and professional development activities. Marketing & Member Engagement Market training programs, consulting services, and Association events to members and prospective members. Develop and coordinate promotional materials including calendars, email campaigns, social media content, and training announcements. Coordinate communications with staff to ensure timely and accurate marketing efforts. Conduct member visits to review services, assess needs, and strengthen member relationships. Assist in membership recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention efforts. Coordinate attendance and outreach efforts for Association programs, events, and roundtables. Support strategic initiatives that enhance member value and workforce engagement. Events, Roundtables & Special Projects Manage and coordinate industry roundtables, professional forums, and special events, including: Safety Roundtables Maintenance Roundtables Manufacturing/Plant Operations Roundtables Labor & Employment Law Summit Coordinate registrations, participant communications, and logistics for events and programs. Prepare and coordinate Zoom meetings and virtual training sessions as needed. Attend and assist with Association and Council events as required. Plan and execute additional projects and initiatives as assigned by the President. Attend professional organization meetings and represent the Association within the business community. Consulting Services Promote and coordinate consulting services offered by the Association. Prepare consulting proposals and manage consulting project processes. Coordinate consultant scheduling, invoicing, expense tracking, and profitability reporting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Workforce Development, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit, association management, workforce development, training, or business engagement roles preferred. Experience developing, coordinating, and/or delivering professional training programs. Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management systems. Experience with virtual meeting platforms and email marketing systems preferred. Ability to conduct presentations and facilitate meetings with business leaders and stakeholders.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily office-based work environment with frequent computer usage. Ability to sit for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Occasional lifting of materials up to 10 pounds. Periodic travel to member locations, training sites, and Association events may be required.
Pay:
$52,297.70 - $65,000.00 per year
